Even if the admirers of Mr. Adnan Oktar call him Hazrat "Mahdi", there is no question that he accepts such a position. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not let anyone call him Hazrat Mahdi for as long as he lives. Therefore, as a Muslim who paves the way for Hazrat Mahdi (as), Mr. Adnan Oktar would not let anyone call him Mahdi either. In addition, Mr. Oktar has explained for several times that he will not accept being called the Mahdi. However, the comments of some scholars who abstain from the subject of Mahdism and stand against explaining it thoroughly, aim to present it like it is obscure and unclear.
More than 200 portents regarding Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) coming told by our Prophet (saas) has been realized within the last 30 years one after the other since Hijri 1400. Since all of these portents have been realized, all Muslims should be looking for Hazrat Mahdi (as) in line of these portents. Our Prophet (saas) told these portents for us, Muslims to find Hazrat Mahdi (as). Our Prophet (saas) has given us a description for an address. There is a direction in the hadiths that points Hazrat Mahdi (as) when time, place, individuals and incidents collide. Our Prophet (saas) almost said, "go, find this blessed individual there." If Muslims shut their eyes to this clear description, then they would be not putting our Prophet’s (saas) directions to good use.
For example, the attack on the Kaaba in 1979 and bloodshed at the Kaaba, the invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, stopping and interrupting the flow of the Euphrates for the first time in history, Iran-Iraq war in 1980, lunar and solar eclipses 15 days apart at the month of Ramadan in 1986, the occurrence of Halley’s comet in 1986, the occurrence of Lulin comet in 2009, are the addresses given about the time of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (as). The addresses about the location of Hazrat Mahdi (as) are the holy relics with which Hazrat Mahdi (as) will emerge, being in Istanbul, and the occurrence of a fire shaft even a blind eye can see as a result of the tanker explosion in Istanbul in 1979. The information in the hadiths told by our Prophet (saas) regarding Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) having a thin and beautiful nose, a black scar on his right leg, a mole on this forehead, a scar on his forehead, a mole shaped like a leaf on his back, a broad forehead, a single dip between his eyebrows, bright teeth, a light-colored mole on his cheek, the Mark of the Prophet on his shoulder, black hair, broad body, large stomach, long thighs and curved eyebrows, are physical portents that give the addresses about the individual. The addresses about Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) works are pointed out by Hazrat Bediuzzaman and these are the complete destruction of the Darwinist-materialist philosophy, preaching and spreading faith based on evidence, protecting believers from social deviance, serving Islam by cooperating with Christian pontiffs and establishing the Islamic Union.
Those Muslims who are sincere should look at all these directions given by our Prophet (saas) and should say, "Yes, I’m aware of these and according to these portents I’m looking for Hazrat Mahdi (as)." Only then it is clear that they approach this matter in an honest and sincere way. However, if they say, "I’m not looking for Hazrat Mahdi (as), therefore I’m not attaching importance to these hadiths, as per me Adnan Oktar cannot be the Mahdi (which Adnan Oktar is not claiming to be)", then one suspects the sincerity of those who are in such an attitude. Because, according to verses in the Qur’an and the hadiths, it is clearly seen that Islam will prevail and Muslims will have a leader in our current century. According to the verses in the Qur’an and the hadiths, it is a religious obligation to desire and believe that Islam will prevail throughout the world. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be the leader of Muslims during this domination.
One of the glad tidings Allah told us in the Qur’an is that the Prophet Jesus (as) will come back to Earth again in this century. Our Lord commands us that Prophet Jesus (as) will come during the times near to the Day of Judgment and that we should believe and follow him when he comes:
"He [the Prophet Jesus] is a Sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path." (Surat az-Zukhruf, 61)
In another verse, Allah reveals that when the Prophet Jesus (as) comes, there will be no one who does not believe him on Earth. This means loud and clear that Islamic morality will prevail throughout the world.
"There is not one of the People of the Book who will not believe in him before he dies; and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them." (Surat an-Nisa’, 159)
When Prophet Jesus (as) comes, he will strive intellectually against the antichrist (dajjal) together with Hazrat Mahdi (as) and make him impotent and realize the domination of Islamic morality through this intellectual struggle. Allah reveals that He will make Islam prevail the world and that Muslims will live in peace and security in the 55th verse of Surat an-Nur:
"Allah has promised those of you who believe and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their religion with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. ‘They worship Me, not associating anything with Me.’ Any who are unbelievers after that, such people are deviators." (Surat an-Nur, 55)
In conclusion, according to these verses of the Qur’an, the hadiths and Bediuzzaman Said Nursi’s explanations, Muslims must say, "Hazrat Mahdi (as) must have come, according to the descriptions given to me, I’m looking for Hazrat Mahdi (as) and I want to become his follower", but it is seen that some Muslims are away from this sincere attitude. These people unwisely try to evade from the subject of Mahdism. This is the method of the dajjal. This is because, Hazrat Mahdi (as) is the opposite of the antichrist and has the strength to intellectually destroy the antichrist. Therefore, the antichrist does not like Hazrat Mahdi (as), tries to diminish his effect by his own means. He tries to destroy him intellectual at first, and if not then he begins to slander. When he is not able to prevail intellectually, then psychological attack begins. He inculcates like "Hazrat Mahdi is a spirit, a soul, he will not come, don’t give importance to the portents told in the hadiths, don’t look for Hazrat Mahdi (as)." It is clear that sincere believers who follow our Prophet (saas), who take the Qur’an as a guide, who aspire for the dominance of Islamic morality to be realized in no time and who endeavor to achieve that, would not be influenced by the insidious inculcations of dajjalism. When Hazrat Mahdi (as) comes, sincere believers can recognize and know this blessed individual with the light of faith, by following the addresses given by our Prophet (saas), with Allah’s permission.
