ADNAN OKTAR: I beg Allah that all our guests enjoy their meal. May Allah bestow many more such occasions, may He grant us to see many more months of Ramadan, insha'Allah [God willing]. Let me now respond to the questions from our friends from the foreign press, insha'Allah.
REPORTER 1: My name is Clement Deloatch [ABC News]. And my first question is... I am very curious so I will have to ask you various questions. The foundation, the Science Foundation; what is the main objective of the Science [Research] Foundation? What are some of the things the foundation is working to accomplish?
ADNAN OKTAR: The main goal is for Turkey and the region and the world to live in peace and tranquility. For moral virtue and love to reign over the whole world. For democracy, peace and freedom to prevail across the world.
REPORTER 1: Follow-up question. In this region, Turkey is playing an important role from what I can see, in trying to bridge a gap between the East and the West in a number of issues, including the political area. Does the foundation support or taking a position on what the Turkish government appears to be trying to do now, in bridging the gap between East and the West in a number of issues both political as well as economic areas?
ADNAN OKTAR: We have long wanted the Turkish world to unite, the Islamic world to unite, and for that unity to take the form of Turkish-Islamic Union. We want both Israel and Azerbaijan and Russia to be within that union. For long, we have had an understanding that wants to see intense feelings of protection and love and affection towards non-Muslims; that is towards Christians and Jews. We have implemented such an intensive policy. I think this has also influenced policy of the government. It is clearly seen that the government clearly has a serious policy towards Turkish-Islamic Union. But that carries the aim of founding democracy, peace, tranquility and brotherhood all through the world. In other words, there is no claim for racial or religious superiority in it.
That is because every religion regards itself as superior and most excellent. We respect that. Islam is like that within itself. Christianity is like this within itself. Judaism is like this within itself. But these activities should to be carried out in a friendly and brotherly manner, with a spirit that protects and watches over each other. We are totally opposed to the idea of a new Armageddon. We do not believe that there will be any more wars after this point. Neither would we permit one. The war with Iraq is the Armageddon referred to, and it is over. Insha'Allah, the results will all be for the best. Peace and brotherhood will completely reign in the region. According to our own belief, we are in the century of the coming of the Mahdi (pbuh). We believe that the Mahdi (pbuh) has come. Both as Shiites or as Sunnis, we hold that belief. Protestants, Catholics and the Orthodox; they all await for the coming of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). We also awaited his coming, but we now believe that he has already come. We believe that the Mahdi (pbuh) has already come and that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) has already returned. And we also believe that peace and brotherhood will rule the world in this century.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, if there are any other questions, I would like to answer them.
REPORTER 2: Good evening. My name is Imma Vitelli, I am from [Vanity Fair] Italy. Just one clarification. You mentioned that there will be a Turkish Islamic Union and it will include Israel and Russia? You have glued these to the union?
ADNAN OKTAR: It will be a union that includes Israel, Russia and Armenia, I mean it will be one that is based on love and affection toward Christians and Jews. That is because Islam is a faith built on protection of non-Muslims as well, with love and affection. Consequently, their ease and peace and security is very essential and important to us; their enjoying plenty and abundance, their living in peace and wealth.
ADNAN OKTAR: If there are any more questions, I can answer.
REPORTER 1: You mentioned a Turkish-Islamic Union that will be inclusive of Russia and Israel. And in fact the three major religions; Christianity, Islam and Judaism; they all worship the same Creator God. How is or what is it that you think will bring these three together? Is there any particular thing that will finally bring these three together?
ADNAN OKTAR: Every religion is worthy of respect in itself. The Turkish-Islamic Union will take the necessary measures for the Jews to be able to live by their religion in the best way. It will again take the measures needed for Christians to be able to live by their religion in the best possible manner. And it will similarly take the requisite steps so that Muslims can also live by their faith in the true sense of the word, in complete peace, freedom, and brotherhood.
The Turkish Islamic Union will be a union in which freedom and democracy will have full command. Consequently wars between religions or sects or wars between ideas will completely vanish from the face of this world. All weapons will disappear. Weapons will be melted down and used in industry. These facts appear both in the Torah and the Gospel. These are also facts set out by our Prophet (saas) in the hadiths.
There will be no more weapons or wars on earth. I say that all mankind will live to see this within the next 10 years. There are hadiths to that effect. Our belief is in that direction. And the statements in the Torah and Gospel are all in that direction as well.
REPORTER 3: Dr. Charlotte McPherson, I am a columnist from Today's Zaman and author of Culture Smart: Turkey. I was just wondering. Is there not going to be any more reference, why are different nations in the Islam world working on the nuclear weapons and plans something? The second thing is I have been in Turkey for over 30 years studying for my master work, something related with Central Asia and I would like to know; I think Ak Party is doing an excellent job in many ways in bringing Turkey forward and opening doors to actually help Turkey get in to the EU. Although I think a lot of Turks aren't convinced that they really want Turkey to get into the EU. And I wonder why they have been so successful in so many things but they have not been able to actually convince the average Turk that they don't have other motives? And if you would like to elaborate, on the Caliphate and the Caliph that is going to develop? It will be very interesting to hear you talk. I asked three questions, thank you for your time and also for the lovely meal.
ADNAN OKTAR: Nuclear weapons will disappear with the appearance of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). I mean he has already come but this will come about, when people will see him for who he is, when the Mahdi (pbuh) undertakes that task. This is explicitly set out in the hadiths. It is also set out in the Torah and the Gospel. At the moment disarmament is going to continue at full speed. Weapons will be entirely done away in the time of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and the time of Mahdi (pbuh). Wars will come to an end at that time, but even now they will lose impetus and force; and it is declining, we will see this anyway.
ADNAN OKTAR: There is no logic behind not wanting to join the EU. We love the Europeans. They are good and beautiful people, who are modern, civilized, pro-democracy and well-disposed to art and freedom. It is the same with the Americans. There can be no logic or reason behind not joining the EU. I do not think that opponents of it have any logical position. Therefore, Turkey will join the EU. But it will join as a rich and powerful country. As a country that makes a contribution to the EU, that enriches it. Insha'Allah, of course.
ADNAN OKTAR: Caliphate... Every country will be free and independent within its borders. Israel, for example, will live by its own faith and beliefs within its own national borders. The person known as the Caliph is someone beloved of everyone and who advises love, affection, friendship and brotherhood to people. He is someone whose words are valued and is held esteemed and respected. In other words, he is not a despotic tyrant who employs violence. He is a person who solves everything with love and brotherhood. We are referring to a Caliph like that, not in the military sense or political sense. Let us not even call him a Caliph. We can say that he is a man of love and friendship, a passionate lover of Allah.
Every country will be free and at liberty with its own ideas and beliefs. But brotherhood, love and democracy will live in the hearts of everyone everywhere in the world as a strong passion, as a strong love. That is because the real problem in the world is lovelessness, and this person who will come, that is the Mahdi, will enable love. It would be better to call him a man of love.
But if we have to refer him as a Caliph, then he will be the Caliph of Allah, someone sent by Allah to be beneficial for people, to teach them love, brotherhood and friendship. Both the prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), they both are descended from the Prophet Abraham (pbuh). Both are descended from the prophets. And they are therefore brothers.
REPORTER 4: Yes, I was wondering what kind of democracy you would like to see in the Islamic Union. I mean would it be different from the democracy you have in the Western countries at the moment. Is there a model say, a country whose democracy you would like to cite as being similar to?
ADNAN OKTAR: I am not of the opinion that there is full democracy in Western countries or in America. That is because devout believers are not completely free. And people who espouse various ideas are not completely free. Under the conception of freedom of the Turkish-Islamic Union, there will be freedom and security in the full sense of the words. I mean, even though there are moves to improve the rights of women, fine results are not being obtained. But in the hadiths we are told that a woman will be able to travel in safety, completely alone, as far as Damascus, in the time of the Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). That time of peace, love and brotherhood is described at length in the Torah. And it is the same in the hadiths. The world has never seen such a climate of peace, brotherhood and freedom. This is a perfection that will happen for the first time in the world. We call it the Golden Age. People will see a perfection way beyond anything they are familiar with.
REPORTER 5: [Dr. Bernardus A.A. Bouwman, Holland] I would like to ask you a very Turkish question. First of all I would like to thank you for your invitation, for the wonderful food. My Turkish question is this; in Turkey right now, there is a very interesting debate about the significance of the Fethullah Gulen movement. Some people like it very much, see it as very positive. Other people think it is going to destroy Turkey or at least take over power in Turkey. My question is how do you evaluate Fethullah Gulen movement?
ADNAN OKTAR: I have been observing Fetullah Gulen for a long time now. Compliant people, good people can be clearly understood from what they say, from the expressions on their face and most especially from their works, from their applications. One can clearly see that this movement is for the favor of the mankind. One can clearly see that they want peace and brotherhood in the world. We also see how they are working for democracy and peace in Turkey and to eliminate the perils of fascism, communism and materialism. We see that they are very moderate and loving and peaceful in doing that and that they are anti-terrorists and are strictly against violence. Consequently it is apparent that they have a good manner. I think those who speak against them do so out of jealousy, and I cannot think of anything else.
REPORTER 6: Good evening my friends. My name is Karen Wirtz. First of all thank you very much for this wonderful iftar. I would like to know how you are going to reach this perfect democracy. Particularly in countries like Sudan, how are you going to implement the woman rights in Sudan for example? Or Egypt? Yes. How do you want reach this perfect democracy?
ADNAN OKTAR: Let me say once more; May Allah bless this iftar meal. May Allah bestow many more such iftar dinners on us, insha'Allah. May He bestow beauty and abundance on us. When the Mahdi (pbuh) appears, Sudan, Egypt, Turkey and all Islamic countries will come under the influence of the system of the Mahdi. They will all fall under the influence of this excellent person, who is a passionate master of love and peace and friendship, a master of love and passion. Christianity will come under the complete influence of the Prophet Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). Consequently we do not have any worries about what will happen in Venezuela or Russia or America. All Christian countries will be totally under the control of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). There is an explicit verse in the Qur'an to that effect.
Almighty Allah says; "there will not be one member of the People of the Book who does not believe". I seek refuge in Allah from the satan. "There will not be one member of the People of the Book who does not believe in you". In other words, Almighty Allah says that the whole Christian world will be under his control. And Allah says; -I seek refuge in Allah from the satan- "I will make those who love you, superior over the unbelievers until the Day of Judgment". That is He is referring to a global dominion. We understand from the Torah, the Gospel, the Qur'an and the hadiths that there will be an air of festivity and rejoicing in all Islamic and Christian countries in the time of the Prophet Jesus and Hazrat Mahdi (peace be upon them both), insha'Allah.
REPORTER 7: Hello. My name is Piotr Zalewski and I am from Poland [Polityka Magazine].My question is this: The Turkish Islamic Union that you mentioned, it will be established on coming arrival of the Mahdi (pbuh). But what makes you so confident that the Mahdi should arrive in this decade?
ADNAN OKTAR: There are more than 100 statements, I mean pieces of evidence, about the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) in the Torah and the Gospel. There are more than 100 evidences. Furthermore, there are 150 portents mentioned in the hadiths of our Prophet (may Allah bless his soul and grant him peace). Almost all of these portents have come about. These are all proved one by one, in details with documents, photographs, maps on our websites; www.HarunYahya.org and www.HarunYahya.com sites. Our brothers who research this point can look from there in details. In the same way, we also set out the evidence in the Torah and the Gospel one by one, with supporting photographs and documents. That is why I am certain.
GUEST: Good evening. I am not a journalist, I am a diplomat, being allowed to contribute with a question. I am 100% with you that democracy is very important for all of us, for all the world together. I think before democracy, you have to establish security in the world against the violence that is spreading around the world. We are witnessing in the last more or less ten years, since September 11th, the rise of violence and un-ethicism and radicalism in the world. How do you evaluate that situation which is now spreading all over the scene, international scene? Also how do you think that the West and the East will collaborate and put an effort to this problem to get ahead of the violence which is spreading in the world, in order to create the circumstances for democracy and freedom of the peoples of the world. Thank you. And before I finish I would like to thank you very much for this wonderful gathering and for the iftar. It is an honor for us to be here. Thank you.
ADNAN OKTAR: We can see from the Torah and the Gospel that violence will intensify prior to the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). We can see it in the hadiths, as well. In other words, it is not the union of the countries of Europe and Asia that will put a stop to it. This will be realized with the coming of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and the Mahdi (pbuh). We are now in the End Times. The reason of economic crisis is also linked to the coming of the Messiah (pbuh) and the Mahdi (pbuh). These seven years are also referred to in the Torah. In other words, all these events occurring lately and the events previously occurred are all metaphysical. That is clearly seen when one looks carefully. Global policy is at the moment being shaped around the movement of the system of the Messiah; the coming the Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh) and coming of the Mahdi (pbuh). That is clearly seen from a good, careful analysis. Peace and brotherhood will be fully established with the appearance of the Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
Thank you all for your visit today. I am very fond of you all. I have a deep affection and love for my brothers who have come from European or Muslim countries. Insha'Allah we can hold similar dinners every year, and even to mark other occasions. Let us dine and talk together. My interview is about to start now, and you have your own business to attend to, of course.
