In this Animal Planet documentary, it is claimed that scorpions emerged on land 450 million years ago and were the first vertebrates "bold" enough to do so. Animal Planet also claimed that the so-called evolutionary ancestors of the scorpion were creatures living in water with gills of nearly 1 meter.
It is true that water-dwelling scorpions from the Silurian Age have been found. As we know, present day scorpions are land creatures. Some evolutionists claim that the organs in these present day scorpions known as pectin or pecten are organs which resemble vestigial gills surviving from the Silurian water scorpions. But this is just an assumption and it is known that the pectens are not redundant but functional organs. In connection with the senses, this organ has certain mechanical receptors and by detecting surface vibration helps the male scorpion to spread spermatophores. Thus it emerges that Animal Planet's claim has no scientific value but is just imaginative speculation based on prejudice. Findings which show in sharper relief the invalidity of this claim put forward by Animal Planet to support evolution are the scorpion fossils from hundreds of millions of years ago which have the same bodily structure as present day scorpions. The scorpion fossil of the Pulmonoscorpius kirktoniensis species found in Scotland's East Kirkton region is 320 million years old and has a structure no different from that of present day scorpions.
In fact, findings concerning scorpions show not evolution but its absence. Even though the documentary broadcast by Animal Planet is devoted to scorpions from start to finish, it has not a word to say to its viewers about these fossils which indicate a 320 million-year absence of evolution. Why not? Because Animal Planet adopts Darwinism as a blind belief and prefers to cover up findings damaging to Darwinism. Fables such as the boldness of the scorpion which emerged from water onto land are the product of an effort to obscure the truth with propaganda slogans.
Scorpions have reached the present day without changing for hundreds of millions of years because of their knowledgeable design, that is because of the Creation. Another indicator of their having been created lies in the systems which gain superior mobility for scorpions. As has been described on Discovery Channel, with its pincers a scorpion can lift 200 times its own weight. Because of small bristles placed on the pincers these creatures can easily sense the smallest movement in their vicinity and they can move their tails made up of jointed segments in any way and poison enemies with the stings mounted at the end of their tails. The production of poison in the scorpion's body according to a special chemical formula, its transference to the sting through special channels and the placement of the sting on a tail whose resemblance to a winch gives it great mobility are examples of wonderful design. Just as every design has a designer, the scorpion has a Creator. Exalted God created the scorpion with all its characteristics.
